My Temperament Explanation

Read the following info below and this will give you a more understanding of who I am and how I tick.... This description hits me dead on I believe!

You are a "Choleric / Sanguine" temperament!

The choleric-sanguine is a blending of the two extroverted temperaments and will be somewhat less extraverted than the sanguine-choleric, because the choleric’s extraversion often takes a back-seat to his goal-oriented behavior. Nonetheless, this temperament combination is second only to the sanguine-choleric in terms of being outgoing and people-oriented. This temperament mix tends to give rise to an enthusiastic, motivational, and highly driven leader (choleric) whose social skills and interest in other people (sanguine nature) make him less dictatorial and capable of some flexibility. He will value relationships more than a pure choleric, and will show greater compassion in dealing with people, will be less controlling than the pure choleric, and will be more willing to take time out to relax and enjoy himself.

If you are a choleric-sanguine, you will find that you have a great amount of energy and inspiration for initiating projects and can be highly focused on task completion as well. Although you tend to be very objective, pragmatic, and logical -- and may sometimes find yourself stepping on toes in the process of accomplishing the task at hand -- you will also have the interpersonal skills needed to resolve conflict and to help people work together and get along with one another. The creativity and sensitivity of your sanguine nature will enable you to be flexible when the situation calls for it, and less demanding and harsh than a pure choleric would tend to be. You are likely an energetic leader or manager, with superb debating skills: firmly convinced that you are right, you also have the “people-skills” necessary to convince others as well!

Without strong formation and a deep spiritual life, however, your temperament’s weaknesses will be intensified. Without attention to self-formation you may find yourself quickly aroused to anger, yet also unforgiving. You can be impatient with others and overly opinionated. You may speak frankly or impulsively without regard for others’ feelings. You should take care that you become neither a workaholic nor driven by your passions. You may insist on having your own way, and become angered, blame others, or make excuses when corrected. But, once you become aware of the weaknesses of your nature, and make a commitment to self-improvement, you will be able to be equally determined in pursuing self-formation.

Bottom of the Ninth.... Game Over!

Life to me is so much like a baseball game.

1st Inning (Tone Setter) - First pitch - For every pitcher the first pitch of the game needs to be in the strike zone. Achieving this goal sets the tone of the game! If this does not happen then things can quickly get out of hand. The batting team wants the first batter to reach base by any means necessary to hopefully get things out of hand quickly. Both teams strive in this inning to gain the momentum which will hopefully lead them to a victory at the end of the game.

4th Inning (2nd Chance) - Nothing truly special about the fourth inning except that if ever hitter so far has been an "out" it means that this will be the 2nd time the first batter and the rest of the team will be given another chance to bat. Hopefully this 2nd at bat will wipe away a mistake or the frustration of the first at bat.

7th Inning (Stretch) - You think this stretch is just for the fans.... Well it is! However, one thing to note is that if a team has not been successful at achieving runs by this inning then some worry needs to occur for the team management and players.

8th Inning (Realization) - This is the inning that a player either begins to realize that he is going to win or lose the game! This realization grows as each out occurs for both teams!

9th Inning (Last Chance) - If you are down by runs you do everything you can to amount a rallying comeback. The most famous scenario of the greatest kind of comeback is usually voiced by a child when playing baseball in the park, "Bottom of the 9th, Full Count, 2 Outs, Down by Three, Bases Loaded, and here comes the pitch.....It's a Grand Slam Home Run!" - Game Over

Everyday in life we go through things that are challenging! These challenges usually structure like this baseball analogy that I have discussed. Many times we succeed by never being behind in the score. Other times we just plain get beat. Then there are times when the "challenge's" score is so close that it can be either a success or a failure in life.

As I wrote this blog I began to realize that I am now coming to a game losing scenario. I for the past 6 years have been in a game, but early this year I was in the realization part of the game that I knew I had lost. Oh well, NO chance for a 9th inning comeback although I wish I certainly could. For those of you wondering what I am talking about I am just giving you an FYI that I will probably never tell. But one thing is true is that as of this Saturday I will personally know that this game is over!

Oh wait, there is 162 baseball games in a year.... There will be another game for me, but hopefully it won't be a 6 year game that I lose in the end!

GAME OVER!
